The Gokyo and Everest Base Camp Trek is a combination of two popular trekking routes in the Solu-Khumbu region of Nepal. The trek starts in Lukla and follows the same route as the classic Everest Base Camp Trek up to Namche Bazaar. From there, the route diverges and takes you to the Gokyo Valley, where you’ll visit the Gokyo Lakes and climb to the top of Gokyo Ri for breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including Mount Everest. After exploring the Gokyo Valley, you’ll retrace your steps back to Namche Bazaar and continue to the classic Everest Base Camp route, ending at the base of the world’s highest mountain.

Day 3: Flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2610m)

Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

Today, you’ll continue your trek to Namche Bazaar, the main trading center of the Solu-Khumbu region. The trek to Namche is a bit more challenging, as it involves a steep ascent through forests and small villages. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to catch glimpses of some of the surrounding peaks, including Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, and Kangtega.

Day 5: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

Today is a rest day in Namche Bazaar, which is important for acclimatization. You’ll have the chance to explore the town and visit the local market, as well as take a short hike to the Syangboche Airport or the Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.

Day 6: Trek to Tengboche (3860m)

Today, you’ll continue your trek to Tengboche, a small village located in the Khumbu region. Along the way, you’ll pass through the villages of Khumjung and Khunde, and visit the famous Tengboche Monastery. The trek to Tengboche is relatively easy, with a gradual ascent through forests and small villages.

Day 7: Trek to Dingboche (4410m)

Today, you’ll continue your trek to Dingboche, a small village located in the Imja Valley. The trek to Dingboche is relatively easy, with a gradual ascent through forests and small villages. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to catch glimpses of some of the surrounding peaks, including Ama Dablam and Lhotse.

You’ll have the chance to explore the village and visit the Gokyo Lakes, a series of six high-altitude lakes located in the Khumbu region. You’ll also have the chance to climb to the top of Gokyo Ri (5360m) for panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.

Day 12: Trek to Thangna (4700m)

Today, you’ll continue your trek to Thangna, a small village located in the Khumbu region. The trek to Thangna is relatively easy, with a gradual ascent through forests and small villages. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to catch glimpses of some of the surrounding peaks, including Makalu and Cholatse.

Day 13: Trek to Dzongla (4830m)

Today, you’ll continue your trek to Dzongla, a small village located in the Khumbu region. The trek to Dzongla is relatively easy, with a gradual ascent through forests and small villages. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to catch glimpses of some of the surrounding peaks, including Cho Oyu and Gyachung Kang.

Day 14: Trek to Lobuche (4940m)

Today, you’ll continue your trek to Lobuche, a small village located in the Khumbu region. The trek to Lobuche is relatively easy, with a gradual ascent through forests and small villages. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to catch glimpses of some of the surrounding peaks, including Pumori and Lobuche.

Day 15: Trek to Gorak Shep (5160m) and visit to Everest Base Camp (5364m)

Today, you’ll continue your trek to Gorak Shep, a small village located in the Khumbu region. From Gorak Shep, you’ll visit the historic and iconic Everest Base Camp (5364m), the starting point for most expeditions to the summit of Mount Everest. The trek to Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp is relatively challenging, with a steep ascent over rough terrain.

Day 16: Hike to Kalapatthar (5545m) and return to Gorak Shep

Today, you’ll hike to Kalapatthar, a small peak located near the base of Mount Everest. From the top of Kalapatthar, you’ll have stunning panoramic views of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks. After spending some time at the top, you’ll return to Gorak Shep for the night.

Day 17: Trek to Pheriche (4240m)

Today, you’ll begin your descent back towards the lower elevations of the Khumbu region. You’ll trek to Pheriche, a small village located in the Imja Valley. The trek to Pheriche is relatively easy, with a gradual descent through forests and small villages.

Day 18: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m) and return to Kathmandu

Today, you’ll trek to Namche Bazaar and catch a flight back to Kathmandu. Along the way, you’ll pass through the villages of Pheriche and Tengboche and visit the Tengboche Monastery. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel and have a farewell dinner with your guide and the rest of the group.
